Re: Occupations

Thanks guys. This is great work. I had started to develop something like this myself a while back but got bogged down. The WFRP career system was something I always liked, second only to the one in Traveller. Yeah probably not my most original idea :) But something AFF deserved to have for it and th...

Re: Out of the pit 3

Also I'm sure Graham said at some point his current license for AFF only allows him to reprint Titan and OotP as they are. But agree it'd be a great book.

Re: Occupations

Elves are written up now too, the link's updated to v1.2. Only took me a month to get around to it!

I've had to make up a take on what Titan dwarf and elf societies are like so I had something to base their occupations on. Hopefully it fits with what's already been written about them in the books.

Re: Out of the pit 3

Yep agree, I'd rather wait and it be the best as it can be. This is probably the final book we're going to get with monsters from the FF gamebooks. We might even need to look forward to another AFF2 book as the next to get published.

Re: Updated shamanism

in my head shamanism is more akin to priestly powers, rather than wizardy. In other RPGs there seems to be pretty much a 50-50 split on whether they should be magic-users or clerics. I'm not sold on that either way but making them AFF2 priests but with magic casting spirits is an inspired way to ma...

Re: Outnumbered combat rules

Earlier in the thread, a tactic was mentioned where some combatants would fight defensively to give an outnumbering bonus to their allies. I didn't read that earlier post as being about outnumbering but it is in an... outnumbering thread. My take was one or two PCs attracted the monster's attention...

Re: A few suggestions for rules changes

Yeah it's never made sense to me you can read and write with only Language 2 and yet native speaker is Language 3. So all native speakers can read and write, which means Titan has a slightly higher literacy rate than the modern first world where only most can. Maybe instead Language 3 is fluent spea...

Re: Occupations

Thanks everyone for all the encouragement. The Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG has a nice random table to determine backgrounds, it is very fun. It also determine the starting possessions of the characters. Maybe you could check it out for some ideas. I definitely will, thanks. Are the people on this boa...

Occupations

This is a new option for AFF2 character generation. Every player character has a past and that includes some sort of occupation that kept them fed before they took the path of the adventurer. The occupation can be used just to add some extra background to the character, or it can be taken a little f...

Re: Outnumbered combat rules

one or two Adventurers attract the attacks of a big monster, but by fighting defensively minimise the chances of taking damage, while the remaining Adventurers go for all out attacks (if the outnumbering bonus is high enough) or feints (with no risk of taking damage, never mind extra damage) to cho...

Re: Outnumbered combat rules

What do you mean by stopping the party outnumbering them too much ? Most of the creatures with multiple attacks only appear in ones or twos according to the pit books (although it's a good idea to treat those number appearing as a guide only). So the most common situations for outnumbering are: 1. ...
