Re: Occupations

Thanks everyone for all the encouragement. The Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG has a nice random table to determine backgrounds, it is very fun. It also determine the starting possessions of the characters. Maybe you could check it out for some ideas. I definitely will, thanks. Are the people on this boa...

Occupations

This is a new option for AFF2 character generation. Every player character has a past and that includes some sort of occupation that kept them fed before they took the path of the adventurer. The occupation can be used just to add some extra background to the character, or it can be taken a little f...

Re: Outnumbered combat rules

one or two Adventurers attract the attacks of a big monster, but by fighting defensively minimise the chances of taking damage, while the remaining Adventurers go for all out attacks (if the outnumbering bonus is high enough) or feints (with no risk of taking damage, never mind extra damage) to cho...

I'm pretty sure Pitty Mc Pitface was only a working title.

Re: Outnumbered combat rules

What do you mean by stopping the party outnumbering them too much ? Most of the creatures with multiple attacks only appear in ones or twos according to the pit books (although it's a good idea to treat those number appearing as a guide only). So the most common situations for outnumbering are: 1. ...

I'll be happy just to see OotP3! Apart from all the new AFF content it's killing me not knowing what the final title is...

Re: Quasqueton Castle

You have a castle filled with with golems, fire sprites and smoke deamons... the wizard has to have studied conjouring. Sure, what I meant is summoning creatures like the demons is crossing a line with conjuration towards evil. But I like shades of grey and so I'm suggesting he might have only dabb...

Re: Outnumbered combat rules

In practice the main use of multiple attacks for creatures is to stop the party outnumbering them too much. You might want to take a look at this thread.

Re: House rule: Varying the effects of combat

When you reach zero roll 2d6 on the following table (based upon one made for D&D) I really like the concept of different results when a character runs out of STAM. Something I've been thinking for a while is it'd be great to have some effects from combat that were more long term. Breaking a leg...

Re: Quasqueton Castle

Keep them coming people! Some background on the two ex-adventurer lords of the castle, the module only hinted at what they were like. There's definitely signs they may have been allied to evil such as the leering idol in room 28. On the other hand they and their men did stop a barbarian invasion of ...

Re: a question on certin talent stacking

Graham tends to be a bit busy so you might have to make do with opinions. Swashbuckler says "This Talent allows an unarmoured Hero to reduce the damage from attacks" and Armour Training "A Hero with this Talent is well used to wearing armour, and getting the best protection from it&qu...

Re: Quasqueton Castle

Wondering if a fastidious gnome obsessed with tending his mushrooms would be good for the garden room? :) Yeah I like AFF gnomes, the whole grumpy guy with magical powers thing. He could definitely scare off other inhabitants that wandered in. I also see them as often being a bit eccentric so they ...

Re: Quasqueton Castle

Thanks guys! I wanted to split out the room notes from the encounter ideas I've already had. So I've moved those here and added a bit more info to the first post. 3. Dining Room - This is now the home of the remaining orc slaves. No one tells them what to do any more but they see no reason to go els...

Quasqueton Castle

My latest project is a complete rework of the maps for the old D&D module B1 In Search of the Unknown. I'd always thought you wouldn't really want to live in a stronghold with no windows like that so it's redone as a castle based loosely on the real Krak des Chevaliers. This was my first serious...
