Re: Text thread

Any particular monsters we want to see for the Pit section of this issue? Tempted to go completely non-canon and do something totally new for some obscure corner of Titan.

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)

I'm happy to help out too, doing whatever. I can do a OOTP section or a background section, or whatever, really. Let me know what you want me to do. :-) Don't do solos - they're huge and intensive. Fighting Fantazine does them and there should be a new issue of that coming out soonish. (There was al...

Re: The Tables in the Herbal

Hi, yep, the Herbal Distribution tables were intentionally designed as 3d6 bell-curve tables to mirror the Encounter Table format in Out of the Pit and Beyond the Pit. Generally, the rare/dangerous/valuable monsters/plants should be the most difficult to encounter. Obviously, if you're only using th...

Re: Out of the pit 3

Glad people like it! I had a lot of fun writing it, but there were times when I wasn't sure it would be finished. In the end it took 3 years to write and added up 125K words, of which 20K was the Ultimate Monster Index, so almost double Beyond the Pit. The damage thing - for both books I just went w...

Re: Out of the pit 3

Yep. Working on it right now. I've got 7 amazing artists (Huargo, Brett Schofield, Johan Tieldow, Mike Tenebrae, Rochie Rochfort, Mustafa Bekir and David Stafford) currently working on illustrations to accompany reprinted retro-art, and I'm tidying up the text and then it's editing and layout. We ar...

A Rough Guide to the Pit

This new book is available as a PDF here, featuring art by Mike Tenebrae, Huargo, Johan Tieldow and Mustafa Bekir: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/270695/Rough-Guide-to-the-Pit?src=sub Adventurers always seem to be dealing with demons and monsters coming out of the Pit. Re: Out of the pit 3

Hey, thanks for all the feedback! :-) OOTP3 is still chugging along and has turned into a bit of a beast itself at 90K words and counting. I'm currently working on the Encounter Tables, and I have about 10 monster descriptions to go. Of course I saved the most difficult and convoluted to describe un...

Re: The Ciarensian Campaign

Yes, that's a cool idea about the Baboons. We have lots of them here in Saudi Arabia and they are definitely animals to approach with caution! Here's another holiday special: Sapphire City Prospectors Sapphire City is a prosperous township on the southern edge of the Desert of Skulls, reached by the...

Re: The Ciarensian Campaign

Apemen Brutal subhuman primitives stalk these marginal lands, driven from more fertile territory by technologically advanced neighbours. Out here in the wilderness they eke out a tenuous paw-to-maw existence, hostile to all newcomers but especially the humans who torment them and the Caarth who ens...

Re: The Ciarensian Campaign

True. I've just used the original SKILL and STAMINA scores from the Clash of the Princes gamebooks (I think it's in The Warrior's Way ) and because they fit in with the other Giants' combat scores from Out of the Pit . Personally, I prefer quick and fast fights over realism, so I tend to use the sco...

Re: The Ciarensian Campaign

Finally got around to writing some more info: Monster Trappers While it is true that the wilds of Allansia are full of powerful and deadly monsters, it is also true that many of these creatures possess ivory horns and claws, strange glands and organs, and beautiful pelts and skins, that are all intr...
