Re: Balancing/Challenge Rating

The concept of "balance" is very much a New School concept to further the idea that players should be coddled by the Referee. If you are stranded in the remote wilderness with little or no gear, Mother Nature is not going to rewrite the rules of the Wild to keep your skin or your feelings from being...

Re: Défis fantastiques

Here’s the link for everything. You can get the main rule book in PDF at least. https://scriptarium.fr/boutique/6-df-le-jeu-de-role I saw that page, but I was puzzled as to why there was no PDF for Titan that I could discern. EDIT: Just got a note from the publisher who said that the PDF for Titan ...

Assassins of Allansia Gamebook

Being a little slow on news from Titan, I just found out about the new gamebook Assassins of Allansia. Has anyone here had a chance to play it through? Is it worth the investment, or shall I give it a pass?

Re: Défis fantastiques

Scriptarium has recently released a pdf of the core rule book. It is beautiful. They are currently rewriting Titan and Out of the Pit (Titan and Creatures de Titan) and will release some PDFs for these books later this year. The maps which are included in the Titan book are beautiful. I am waiting ...

You Are the Hero (Jonathan Green)

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this for a reasonable price? The cheapest I've thus seen is over 100 USD -- and as high as over 800!

Re: Definition of "Wilderness" for Monsters

In old school D&D, wilderness used to mean anything that wasn't a "dungeon" or an urban area like a town. Which of course meant that farmland was wilderness. So yeah, a much abused term. :) This. Wilderness is a very broad, umbrella-term for that which is not bounded by walls, ceilings or similar i...

Great news! I also offer my editorial services. Will there be references as to whence the magic items have been extracted from the gamebook series?

Re: My homebrew - Weird Spells

FOG: -6 to physical activities (incl. melee, hand-to-hand). A new spell should have something to make it functionally different, or at least add to what is BtB/RAW. As for a quick-n-dirty morale rule: All non-heroes drop whatever is held or carried, turn and rout as far as possible from the wailing ...

Re: My homebrew - Weird Spells

The Wailing Wall (Fog) [3] The fog created by this spell appears to have ghostly faces floating in it, silently crying out. Very cinematic kind of spell! What effect does it have mechanically in the game? Morale effect? An actually audible wailing, moaning, keening would be far better than a silent...
