Re: Favourite God (cannon or not)

It's got to be Logaan, if only because he's so active on Titan, and so is a source for adventure and quite deliberate intervention in the lives of the PCs. And it's not just the Riddling Reaver; we also meet an agent of the Trickster in Dead of Night - a woman whose face is painted half white and ha...

Re: Whats everyone playing at them moment?

1/ Midderlands does look fantastic. 2/ Currently 2 (or is it 3?) sessions into running The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. The PCs aren't going to be able to defeat the Warlock - there's only two of them and they're low on supplies, having opted to chop their way through every Orc in the 'barracks' - b...

Re: AFF Manuevers?

I kinda want the Deeds to use other special skills in some way That's interesting. I've been thinking about Fate's 'Create Advantage' action, which allows characters to use any applicable skill to create an advantage in a conflict, including combat. These Advantages can then be used by that charact...

Re: Module Conversion

Yeah. Not sure how much Russ there is in the modules, I'll have to check. A significant proportion of the core book is taken up with tables for the variable effect of magic spells. Indeed, the corruption and patron bond mechanics seem to me to suggest a way to produce the archetypal Fighting Fantasy...

Re: AFF Manuevers?

Make it a three way face off then! (How to handle a three-way fight in AFF? That's a different thread.) My own gestating system takes inspiration from the MRQ2, RQ5/Mythras combat manoeuvres. It's very rough as it stands, If works on margin of difference in Attack Strengths - a sufficient difference...

Re: Stellar Adventures

I still think I'm most likely going to use Stellar Adventures to run a game of Rogue Trader. I bought the 40K RPGs, but they've an oppressive level of detail that puts me off, plus the rules and the setting mitigate against the freewheeling play style that I prefer. So, a Rogue Trader game using SA ...

Re: Module Conversion

I just purchased these AFF materials in the bundle. At first, I was mostly interested in the setting. But the system seems nice too. I think Dungeon Crawl Classics modules would fit the feel of the setting really well. That is something I've been thinking too. It's not just the Russ Nicholson art i...

Hah. A genuine ambition achieved.

This is the final version of Viscera! (I think)

Now I'm working on Goblins! and From the Director's Throne (or something).

Re: Viscera! Blood, Gore, and Grit for AFF

Is it wrong I want to get my group hooked on the pain relief tinctures in here?? Not at all. Imagine what lengths a bunch of junkies will go to to get their fix - petty crime isn't enough in these cases. No, they need to raid wizards' towers, delve into ruins, find dangerous monsters in remote wild...

Re: The ZED Spell

It'd certainly be a way of transporting the PCs to a "Titan 40K", using Stellar Adventures - I imagine Titan's future would be more of the gonzo space fantasy of the original Rogue Trader than the po-faced grimdark of later iterations, mind you.

"Transport something awkward, fragile, or volatile across hostile terrain." As you were looking to movies for inspiration, I figure the archetypical example here would be Wages of Fear.

Re: Viscera! Blood, Gore, and Grit for AFF

Most of the 'Spider God' stuff is written up in some form or another, so I'd just need to compile it into a format useable by others, and draw some better maps. But yes, I'll compile it into a PDF, hopefully quite soon.

Will Scarlet will be the next Merry Man to make it to my blog.

Goodness, is there that many? ;-)

Either way is fine. PM doesn't clutter the thread and expose my illiteracy!
