Re: City random encounter
Has one of the AFF books got a city random encounter? There are two as far as I can see. Dungeoneer pg 281-285 (1d6?) - Blacksand 1 - Passes please! (accosted by city guard) 2 - Stop thief! (accused of theft by someone) 3 - Ere mister! (mobbed by street urchins) 4 - Hey shorty! (accosted by local, ...

Re: Any rules for knocking someone out?
Note that here I thinking more of a sneak attack situation, so a form of unopposed strike, rather than a round in which you are fighting a surprised opponent. A successful Sneaking roll may be needed to get into the position for this. Or perhaps the enemy is asleep or surrendered thus also making i...

Re: Shields and Helmets
Helmets are also a major missing point for me so I count these like a small shield or large shield (big or small helmet) in the standard rules and allow the ignoring of certain critical hit results in the Viscera house rules. Ooh! Mitigating head crits from Viscera is a good mechanic for helmets. I...

Re: Any rules for knocking someone out?
Oh, one last thing I forgot to mention, is how I differentiate between "Unopposed Strike" (from AFF1e) and "Surprise" (from AFF2e). Essentially "Surprise" attacks are when you sneak up on an opponent and attack them before they know you're there - BUT they are able to respond/fight back! "Surprise" ...

Re: Starship fuel
In the core rule book under Extra Fuel Tank, page 65, it says that « under normal operational conditions, the fuel tank of a starship will provide fuel for 2 warp jumps and also 1 month of non-warp power ». What’s the cost of getting a full tank? pg. 103 of Stellar Adventures says fuel costs 40 Cr/...

Re: Any rules for knocking someone out?
Isn’t that covered by the Brawling skill? Yup: "also governs the use of grappling and wrestling" (AFF2e pg. 26) I also found the following relevant rules from AFF1e: "Note that a character may 'pull' a blow at any time in order to reduce the amount of damage it does to his opponent, usually as a pr...

I think so. I haven't found anything posted by him since 2015HedgeWizard wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 10:56 pmWith regards to Steve Luxton, that’s Mr Nibbs isn’t it? I believe Graham mentioned that he hadn’t heard anything from him in some time and feared the worse.

Maybe someone should go knock on his door?

Same! That's why I wanted to "blow it up" and expand on the smaller street details.

Re: Does anyone know of any maps of Chalice?
Thanks guys! Glad you like it. Any plans to do other towns? Not at the moment, we're about 3/4 of the way through our first campaign, and we'll probably be taking a break before we start the second. It all depends on where we go from there. I've been musing trying to get them into the "Riddling Reav...

Re: Any rules for knocking someone out?
The following rules are from "The Curse of Meraki" (adventure from Fighting Fantazine): "Town guards wear leather hauberks and fight to the death, but the heroes can attempt to knock them out if they reduce their stamina to 4 or less. They have to fight at -1 to attack strength, but the next hit wil...

Re: How about reducing the number of magical styles?
It's more like an "enhanced" re-print.
All the original material and text is there, but each spell is also listed with their official AFF2 text and mechanics, and there's @10 pages of new AFF2 specific material at the end (arch-sorcerers, apprentice sorcerers, regional sorcery etc,,,)

Re: Does anyone know of any maps of Chalice?
This is a map of Chalice I made for the AFF campaign I am currently running online. I swapped the 5 mansions to the west because it just worked out nicer for where I wanted Hog House to be (beside the palace). As I was creating it for a private game, and I wanted a "Blacksand" look to the buildings,...
