That's the part I was most interested in (It's BC, or CB depending on who got the highest result even though they both succeeded). :D Unless you mean both succeed but they also both roll the exact same result... in which case we're back to having to adjudicate a draw but that can't really be helped....

We use the alternate "roll high" skill checks from p.156, which have an extra quirk in this situation. It could be looked at as: Since rolling high is required to succeed, and rolling higher than your opponent is required to win it's entirely possible to beat your opponent but not have a high enough...

I'd been overlooking it, certainly. I vaguely remember letting someone do an opposed roll with Dodge, once, but maybe that's wishful thinking. It reminds me a little of how missile attacks work. Typically an archer shooting at a target is a roll to hit with modifiers. That's fantastic! Definitely going to start using that idea for when "do nothing" isn't quite so easy. Love those examples too, makes total sense. :D I do think it's a good idea to be flexible with what special skills can be applied, like you say. Though maybe I should remind the players more often ...

I like the sound of that way of adding the assist bonuses! It fits in much more smoothly with the existing AFF rules as well since it's very similar to outnumbering where additional people add a flat bonus. That's excellent info, just what I was after, thanks! I summarised/collated it a bit so that I can present it to my players. It might be a little altered, to fit the style play we're using , but here's what I have at the moment: Unopposed/Sneak Attack: SKILL or Special Skill test, with +3 bonus. Fum...
