Re: The Adventurers Guide to... the Mountain Elves

So, if there's a community in the Moonstone Hills, are they related to the flint-axe wielding Wild Elves that you can end up fighting there in Crypt of the Sorcerer? As far as I know CotS is the only place they're ever mentioned. Wild Elves aren't included in Titan or OOtP, but I thought they were q...

Re: Poll: what is Titan's most iconic creature

Definitely far and away the Jib-Jib. I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that it was Steve Jackson's favourite as well. I love the jib-jib so much that I've included it in the world I created for my current fantasy campaign, and several of my players have fond memories of the jib-jib they found in...

In a word? Yaztromo. I love that crazy old guy! But yeah, the many really cool NPCs, from the Three Star Pupils and the Demonic Three to Lord Azzur (who is awesome) and Sukumvit to Gilibran, Vermithrax, Wizard of Yore and the Queen of Vymorna. Lots of cool villains to smite and wonderful heroes to a...

In the game I ran on Sunday, my two players pretty much walked through the first two rooms, containing orcs and goblins, and I was concerned that it'd be too easy. However, after a couple of criticals by the monsters, and the occasional normal wound inflicted adding up, they were really starting to ...

Unfortunately this does slightly break the Armour Training talent; I would fix that by making the +1 bonus optional on each roll.

Thoughts?
Maybe the choice of either + or - 1?

Well I've run a game, although it wasn't Firetop Mountain in the end. Instead my players, a priest of Logaan and a dwarf warrior, were hired by a bank to break into their own vaults, which are protected by numerous traps and monsters. The bank held a map to the vault, and all the monsters wear colla...

A couple of friends are nagging me to run something this afternoon. Having read this, I think I'll go for my Firetop Mountain idea, and let you know how it goes.

Actually looking at the armour rolls for the other armour, perhaps, it should be: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7+ Leather Helmet 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 Metal Helmet 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 Visored Helm 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 This would be in combination with the normal armour, so a single roll would be made for armour, helmet and shield. Price...

I have noticed that the price lists include helmets, which don't appear to be included in the armour rules, so here is my suggestion: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7+ Leather Helmet: 0 0 0 0 0 1 2 Metal Helmet: 0 0 0 0 0 2 3 Visored Metal Helm: 0 0 0 0 0 3 4 These helmets would be priced appropriately, taken the give...

That's certainly how they worked it in 1st ed. AFF, and it seemed to work pretty well.

A load of FF maps, including Citadel of Chaos are here:

I'm thinking of running Warlock of Firetop Mountain as a group game as a nice simple dungeon-crawl.

That makes sense. I guess the only defence for taking a short-sword over a sword, at least for rogue characters is that they are lighter and easier to carry when climbing walls/roofs etc and that they can be easily concealed under a coat or cloak. Possibly there should be some rule to inflict penalt...

Mercenaries and Firearms

So, between squealing like a girl over the new AFF, I've been pondering the Maelstrom rules regarding firearms, especially as regards mercenaries. The living was written when missile weapons were only a barely mentioned after-thought, and I feel mercenaries have been sold short by this. Firstly, the...
