Re: Maelstrom Domesday Kickstarter

Hey Graham, I've just sent you a PM re: Maelstrom, but it seems stuck in my sent folder. Let me know if you got it.

Re: Salamonis Book?

Our AFF campaign (which has been running for something like 5 years now) is set in Salamonis, albeit with time moved on considerably, so Salamonis has grown to a huge city (and surrounded by an equally huge undead army). While it probably wouldn't make much difference for our campaign, I'd certainly...

Re: AFF on YouTube

Oh I actually think it does go faster with target numbers. My players always get confused about whether to roll under or roll higher, and if you ask out of the blue for them to roll something, if you reveal that it's an opposed SKILL check they're going to know there's going to be something there. ...

Re: FFantazine

I think i am willing to take a gamble and say order 40, which i can then sell individually to UK gamers. I would only charge costs plus P&P I'd be up for this, and I'll pass it on to the rest of the group, in case they are too. Electronic copy may be convenient, but hard copy is always easier (and ...

Re: AFF on YouTube

Yeah there's loads of people in the RPG community who talk about DnD and Pathfinder (ESPECIALLY PATHFINDER...) but I was like, sod that, AFF is where I'm at. Are you referring to the YouTube RPG brigade? Yes, they do seem to dwell on D&D almost to the exclusion of all other games (I've seen referen...

I think that instakill is important -- it kind of spoils the surprise when the assassin firing their crossbow across the hall at the king needs to fire another 3 times to actually finish him off... but that could probably be handled by GM fiat. If the PCs wish to do it though, maybe to take the lone...

I've got nothing whatsoever against Erol Otus, or Larry Elmore -- I love their work! But I get what you're saying.

Good question. D&D has had many different styles over the years, and it certainly influenced Fighting Fantasy early on, so it might be difficult to disentangle the two games completely. One main difference, I suppose, is that FF is British, and therefore has a generally darker tone, albeit with an u...

Note also that ward apparently only works against one missile. ... What about if the attacker uses rapid fire? Or if two attackers fire at the spellcaster - which is blocked? I'd let the defender choose (before knowing the damage of course, but not a problem if they've been paying attention), or ro...

I should mention that I finally got my set too, albeit in August (sorry, this was the earliest that I managed to find the time to head out to my FLGS -- Edinburgh's Black Lion Games). I love reading through Titan! Giving me all sorts of idea, I need to print out a map of Allansia and make some notes...

Yep, I think that works (and now I know that a quart is about 1.14 litres, which I'm sure will come in handy one day).

How many days does (or should) it take for you to starve to death? At 2 per day, that's only a week for my character. While they may not be operating at full Skill, I'd have thought that an adventurer could go a bit longer without food before becoming one of the unfortunate grinning skeletons to gra...
