That's hard to believe, whatever the spirit of simplicity of AFF ... Unfortunately, that was part of the license. Either reprint as is, or completely rewrite etc. Therefore we had to take th ereprint opti...

- Magic Points increase when MAGIC or Wizardry increases.

but

- Magic Points may be directly increased : 5px * new score.

Isn't it a source of trouble ?

Alternative Unopposed Checks: I think there is a mistake. In order to get the same probability as the "roll under or equal" method the target number of the "roll over or equal" should be 14, not 15. True, but the example in the book assumes a SKILL of 7 and a Special Skill of 1. So the target numbe...

The sneaking rogue example in Opposed checks page 47 and Awareness and Hiding pages 54-55: What is this symetric modifier rule ? With an opposed resolution adding x to one character AND substracting x to his opponent is strictly the same adding 2x to one character OR substracting 2x to the other. Fo...

Rolling method HR

Instead of rolling 2d6 and adding or comparing to a value, Roll 1 negative D6 and 1 positive D6 (chose different colors) The result is the lowest one (in absolute value) In case of tie the result is 0. Then add the result to your value (SKILL, etc.) For instance: -6 and 4 = 4 -2 and 3 = -2 -4 and 4 ...

Ok.

at the exception of Vithrain (p20) who has MAGIC 10 and 18 MP instead of 20.
I think there is another trouble with this character: he has no Wizardry skill but knows 5 spells (with a total of 10 spell ranks)

i don't understand how magic points are supposed to be computed.

(MAGIC+Wizardry+Minor) x2

or

(MAGIC+the best of Wizardry or Minor) x2

or

(MAGIC x 2) + Wizardry+Minor

???

No sample character seems to follow the same way.

Casting difficulty (house rule)

Note: i will use the alternative unopposed check option Would it be unbalancing to set the casting difficulty to (11+spell rank) instead of a flat 15 ? ex: Cantrips : Diff 9 rank 1 : Diff 12 rank 2 : Diff 13 rank 3 : Diff 14 rank 4 : Diff 15 rank 5 : Diff 16 rank 6 : Diff 17 rank 7 : Diff 18 rank 8...
