Well I cant give you figures, but a dice pool system is more evenly distributed. With a 2d6 system, a difference of 4 or 5 points is pretty significant. Well remember that SKILL starts at 3, so even without any special skills, and not improving SKILL above 3 during character creation, the odds of getting 3 successes are reasonable. Alternatively, WILLPOWER would could also be used, in place of RESOLVE, to denote a characters mental skills. Therefore characters would have SKILL, STAMINA, LUCK, WILLPOWER and MAGIC. So normally you would use RESOLVE for mental tests, just like SKILL. However when a gm asks you to Test you RESOLVE, this is going to involve some mentally stressful situation, such as experiencing something very traumatic or horrific, or facing a terrifying creature. Well you could introduce another stat to reflect Intellect, but I am to keep things relatively simple. Right now SKILL reflects every aspect of your character, whether thats their intellect, strength, agility, charisma or perception. That to me is just too much of an abstraction. I don't mind this idea at all of a binary system for Special Skills, but if so, I would totally increase your starting SKILL to 6, with the option of adding up to 3 points with your starting 8 points.
