Re: Out of the pit 3

Is there a softcover version of the POD planned? (I prefer the drivethru softcovers.)

Re: Declare actions and combat options.

As I take an AFF combat round to be a confusion of simultaneous actions, I have everyone declare what they are doing. They can't change what they are doing as, no matter the order in which things are resolved, in fact it is all happening at once. I also get everyone to roll their combat strength an...

Some great stuff here, I’m going to start using the alternative damage combat rules straight away.
I think there were quite a few such rules suggested :)

Re: Gates of Death

Video review of the new book here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6hYLvqv64A .. Not favourable. To be honest, I don't think anyone involved with releasing FF books today (even to some extent Ian Livingstone) really grasps what made these books great and what potential they had.

Re: Gates of Death

He did give us some great locations like Blacksand and Darkwood Forest. But I'm not sure he deserves all the credit as the originator of Allansia as a coherent place. I think most of that worldbuilding was done by Marc Gascoigne and Pete Tamlyn, and later authors in the FF series. Possibly also our ...

Re: Gates of Death

In truth, I'm not the biggest fan of Ian Livingstone's FF books, at least after hist first 3 or 4; he rarely seems to put much effort into making the narrative immersive and he heavily overuses elements like trinket collection and arbitrary 'is this cursed or blessed' decisions.

Re: King Kurad Dragonhelm of Warpstone?

Which 1e book was he referenced in? Besides the few references listed at Titannica I don't recall ever finding out much about the place. It's often intrigued me as a location, lying as it does near the centre of Allansia.

Re: Gates of Death

I'm so unimpressed by the art that Scholastic are using for these new releases, I doubt I will pick it up. Maybe if it gets a good recommendation, unlike the previous two by Livingstone.

Palatino was also the font used for body text in the original FF books.

Also I'm sure Graham said at some point his current license for AFF only allows him to reprint Titan and OotP as they are.
Agree - but I think initially they wouldn't allow pdfs either, which we now have..

Re: Occupations

This is great work. I had started to develop something like this myself a while back but got bogged down. The WFRP career system was something I always liked, second only to the one in Traveller.
