Re: Arion Games - My Birthday sale
I shall have to hope i don't live to 100, otherwise i will be giving things away! You can always calculate with Martian years when we get there :P (Provided we are still using PDFs, rather than to shoot photographical VR memory of the contents directly into our brain or whatever the kids playing on...

Re: How did you get into Fighting Fantasy?
In Germany in the early 90s, my primary school library had a copy of Forest of Doom. Libraries around the area had other gamebooks. I still remember my futile scavenger hunt to play through entire Sorcery!, as reachable libraries only had part I and III available and the German edition of Sorcery! w...

Re: SORCERY APPS
I've played through it too recently when part 4 finally came out. Great adaption chock-full of extra content! The price for the whole series is steep for a video game, but compared to the actual books it is still fine.

Re: Alternative healing rules?
D&D 3.5 had two feats that could raise someone to half health for free (but no further) - Touch of Healing and Draconic Aura (Vigor). Might make a model for a new talent. If you want lax healing without necessating magic, you could return to the healing rules of the original FF books - 4 Stamina per...

Re: Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures set released
This really hit the spot for the German translation of BTW in April :D It will be a nice addition to the individual Playbooks to be able to immediately be able to hand out fitting custom paper minis in both genders. To also have the standard monsters and NPCs in the Playsets covered as well in a sin...

Re: [Regional Sorcery] Gallantaria
Wow, this thread lives on some 5 years later.
It's what little hard information was available in "Titan", followed up by some extrapolation and speculation.

Re: New Arion Games Kickstarter
Will it be compatible with the simpler FASERIP rules in Original Basic MSH (the yellow box)?
I've loved the first MSH, and found Advanced and Revised too fiddly for my tastes.

It tells little new, and in the end devolves into promo for the upcoming non-fiction book "You Are The Hero - A History of Fighting Fantasy", but it is nice to see mainstream media cover FF.

Re: The Javelin -- am I missing something?
The Roman legionairies used their pilum frequently with their shield in the off-hand, so it is definitively not an issue when used as a missile weapon. I don't know any records of them being used as melee weapons, but why would anyone? They were purposefully built to bend and get stuck after hitting...

Re: Blacksand - Status
I'm thrilled to see that there will finally be a re-release of the Blacksand book. The Blacksand portion of the AFF1 book consisted of 90 pages in ~A5, so about 45 pages in the new AFF2 format. At which page count does the city portion clock in in the new book? Will there any random encounter table(...

Lord Azzur = Cobra Commander?
First, just compare their looks: http://i49.tinypic.com/2448ps2.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2d5mhc.jpg Both of them hide their faces all the time beneath clothing, and kill anyone who dares to take a look at it. Lord Azzur was conceived in 1983. Just the year before, the Cobra Commander toy figure wa...
