Re: AFF and More AFF in the Bundle of Holding

Whoa! I don't think I've ever seen previously unreleased material in a BoH before. Kinda contradicts how I assumed they worked. I was pretty shocked. I assumed that I'd try to promote the Bundle but that I'd already have everything in pdf and print, and then I spot a cover I don't recognise. Has Gr...

Re: DICE!

I've never thought that much about it - and it largely doesn't trouble me unless the results are far from random - but I realise that my own method of "there's a pile of d6 in the middle of the table, pick 2 (or 3) and roll" means that the effect of the bias of any particular die is minimised.

Re: Other races reactions to humans.

I certainly think that the other races of Good don't trust humans, and with good cause. Not only are they the creation of Logaan, compared to Dwarfs and Elves they are expansionist, greedy (yes I know Dwarfs are, but human are greedy for anything and everything), short-lived and reckless, etc.

Re: Deadly arrows optional rule

A single d6 roll that turns up a lethal result 1/6th of the time looks pretty dangerous. How about either of these two options. 1/ Change the damage roll for missile weapons to have a much broader spread. Roll a 1, "tis just a scratch", roll a 6 and the average NPC is going down. I'm thinking of the...

The print versions have been ordered, but not yet dispatched i think.
Do print backers of Demons of Doom get this in print? My print copy of DoD has just arrived, thinking of kickstarting my spluttering blog with a review of the book.

Re: GMs companion

I don't know if you were dreaming or not, but think some kind of rules compilation/toolkit would be a great idea - something like (but much smaller than) the Fudge 20th Anniversary big book. So a series of articles - not linked, not meant to be used together, but for GMs to pick and choose (and impr...

Re: Crown of Kings - feeling a need to rewrite the Kharé quest..

I made it "that Abraxus lived just the other side of the bridge over the stinking, roiling mass of Chaos that is the Jibaji River (an answer to ‘why do we have to go through Khare to cross the river’)" as I wrote on my blog. Sorry, forgot to say; I had it that the Jibaji River was corrupted by Chao...

Re:

Khare is simply going to be the major city in my campaign You should consider playering the Inkle games based on the Sorcery! books - obviously with a focus on the 2nd one. While I bought into the post-collapse, part-ruined vibe I got from the AFF CoK book (with ruined and barren areas *within* the...

Re: Crown of Kings - feeling a need to rewrite the Kharé quest..

Re: Khare - in my game I made the first part of the mission a journey to Khare, to visit Abraxus, a Sightmaster Astrologer (a literal Seer) and agent of the Analand who is tasked with keeping watch on the Baklands. So they had to go to the centre of Khare to receive the latest intelligence on the do...

Re: Crown Of Kings

Nearly six years ago I ran the Crown of Kings for my then group of players. you can read play reports and reflections starting here: https://drbargle.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-great-shamutanti-swindle.html I have a 'Crown of Kings' label that I think that I applied to all relevant (and some maybe not...

Re: Sources of insperation

Anyone in northern England with kids should use them as an excuse to visit The Forbidden Corner - which always reminds me of the weird, fairytale, jumble of encounters in the early FF books.

Re: Titan TV...

I don't personally think of Titan as exclusively Asian-flavoured. Perhaps I'm reading things the wrong way. No, but I think that Eastern-Western 'fusion' is underplayed in a lot of Fighting Fantasy stuff. I mean, you have a couple of East Asian flavoured societies, but they are a bit isolated. More...
