Re: How about reducing the number of magical styles?

I agree with you that there are perhaps too many magic styles that build on Magic - Wizardry model, but I appreciate much the fact that AFF proposes radically dfferent spellcasting mechanics depending on the style that you choose, so I'm all for introducing other spellcasting styles with different m...

Re: Tweaks and clarifications to the new AFF rulebook

It would be good to clarify which weapons are one-hand and which are two-handed weapons (this impacts Ambidextrous talent and the possibility of using a shield).

Re: Non-hero character generation

After lots of playtesting I think it is better just going with peasants and remove the farmer background option, just to keep it simpler.

Re: Tweaks and clarifications to the new AFF rulebook

I experimented with characters starting off weaker (i.e. not as heroes) with various options and for long time (see http://www.arion-games.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=849&p=5051&hilit=inexperienced#p5051) - now I'm going with the initial ruleset for character creations but without adding the 8 point...

Re: Tweaks and clarifications to the new AFF rulebook

Monster damage at page 123 mentions small, medium and large weapon/damage, but the Weapon Damage Table, for example at page 164 mentions small, large and very large claws/fang damage.
Maybe just a clarification will be OK.

Re: Lets get started

Pitch 3: A list of magic items and spells from the containers of Khul and The Old World based on the gamebooks (inspired by an old thread of mine). I could do 1-2 books at a time. Notura and, perhaps, Marrangha could be quite hard challenges, but rewarding if you can properly turn them into proper ...

Re: Tweaks and clarifications to the new AFF rulebook

How easy is it to find a teacher who knows enough and is willing to teach you? How much does it cost? How long does it take? But if all that was added to the rulebook it'll be too much hassle for a lot of GMs, and are you really going to tell players they've got enough XP to go to WSS 3 with sword ...

Re: Tweaks and clarifications to the new AFF rulebook

I don't think there is a perfect solution to this but I do know that various groups award less xp, require a traininer or considerable time to increase special skills at higher levels etc Requiring a trainer that is at or above the new Special Skill level (plus some time to learn) is a fair way to ...

Re: Any plan for à third édition ?

I think there could be an optional rule to deal critical hits not only when you roll a double 6, but also when your attack roll is much higher than needed to hit I clicked that when I've looked at doing this before it was for other games, and with the way AFF2 works the calculation is really easy. ...

Pitch 1: I would like to write an adventure for novice adventurers based on the city of Arion (and the associated book), involving city investigation to solve the adventure. Pitch 2: I would like to write a series of articles (one for each number of the fanzine) covering Sorcery style variants for e...

Re: Any plan for à third édition ?

In general the All out attack option is not much used by my players anyway: they'd do anything to have a higher attack roll, rather than lower + more damage.
