Re: Proposed Revised Social Standing Table

Are you planning to use this for campaigns based on Titan? Maybe. Too early to tell. I don't know how much I'll need to have the Heroes interacting with all manner of blue-bloods in my future AFF2e campaign(s), but it was more of a thought-experiment. If the PCs have high-status personages as patro...

Proposed Revised Social Standing Table

I like the concept of social standing in the game. However, I sought to devise a more granular table with more options, esp. from Knight upward. I don't know how terribly accurate this may be in light of historical European nobilities, but I am open to suggestions. Furthermore, I'm not sure where to...

Re: Play test still active?

Is the book out???? :?: No, not yet. I have been delayed somewhat the past week or so, but writing starts again in earnest tomorrow. I am still hoping to have the pdf done by the end of November, and the same goes for the ship catalogue. Then the adventure will follow, as will the print versions. T...

Re: Minor Characteristics

I will just pop in for a moment to comment in general about the urge to add more crunch to AFF2e. I've played/read/studied a wide spectrum of game systems from ultra-complex to hyper-simple, and the older I get I lean markedly towards the latter. AFF hits the sweet-spot for having some details but n...

Re: How did you get into Fighting Fantasy?

In the United States in the early '80s some bookstores did indeed carry a few of the early FF gamebooks. I remember the very day in '83 when I was permitted to buy a single FF book ( Forest of Doom ). http://gamebooks.org/gallery/figfan03a.jpg I was enthralled by the gaming concepts contained therei...

Re: PDFs and watermarking

Of the four PDFs that I thus far have, only HC has watermarks.

Re: Books and libraries to get knowledge bonuses

Excellent idea! Consider it nicked. :)
IIRC there is a very similar mechanic in Eden Studio's Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG. It's called "Occult Libary" (pp. 50-51).

Re: First Post! Lots of thoughts/questions!

There is a fair following of FF and AFF in the USA and Canada, and reasonable in Brazil for some reason. France is big, and spain is not far behind. Australia and NZ seem to be big fans, judging by KS pledges and webstore sales! Noble Knight are the main US sellers of the books, and they normally h...

Re: The Next AFF2e PDF?

Well, TITAN is now out at DriveThruRPG.com. It looks really good. I'm glad that I'm able to get both the hardcopies and a PDF copy. Good times! 8)

I'd wager that the next one will either be BEYOND THE PIT or BLACKSAND.

Re: First Post! Lots of thoughts/questions!

There is considerably more traffic here than on the Fighting Fantazine forums*, but far less than Dragonsfoot, but the latter is D&D-oriented, of course. The books are scarce and, in North America, very hard to locate, but with the availability of affordable PDFs coming out now, there is no need to ...

Great! That will be very useful. 8)

If the one after that is Beyond the Pit, I'll be set.
