To muddy things further, the pre-generated characters in the book only have 3-6 skills and there's only 8 skill slots on the character sheets. i think practically that the effort in melting down sub-par weapons and armour is more effort and less cost effective than just buying new metal from the mines/merchants. so the return on it would be tiny, used primarily to give the apprentices something to work on without ruining quality metal. tha...

the restriction is each power may be used once. Templar would only have one power and devotion of 5. I think the rule for priests to spend one luck for an extra use would work for a Templar. a normal priest of course has 3 blessings and a god special power (in most cases) which is normally used once...

yes i hadn't really thought about it, I even gave the wizard in my example above 1 point in staff skill for exactly this reason (i'd spend 1 point on staff or another weapon as a wizard: Skill 4 is lower than almost all enemies, whereas 5 is a massive difference as you are at least equal to a goblin...

that simplification is more complex than the current rules though and entirely benefits the wizard. I wouldn't enable a wizard to dodge: they're grabbing hold of the arcane energies that surround them and bending them to their will, it is enough to give them a penalty to their casting roll, so they'...

I mostly know what I want to play and so do many of my players, but new players (or old "I keep on dying" players) could find it useful

when I first got the books I email Graham about the round duration and it is 10 seconds.

i think fight defensively is already potent and doesn't need any help, as per skinny orc above. the issue I have with the move is that the increase of x5 speed is incredibly quick in game terms (not IRL terms). I mean if I move fast I can still do things just not that well, I am not at 5 times my us...
