AFF spells Dungeon Crawl classics style
So Dungeon Crawl Classics is an awesome game for many reasons, but the magic system truly stands out. There are comparatively few spells compared to Dungeons and Dragons and even AFF (it states that there are 376 spells, but not all are listed). The reason that there are few spells is that there is ...

Re: Fly and Levitate
Yeah exactly, and anything else with cliffs or walls. Thinking about it more I'd ditch Levitate too and add a 2 MP Climb spell that would allow the specialist wizard to keep up with the rest of the party on fairly easy climbs. But what you don't want is there's that sort of obstacle which you need ...

Re: Honesty cantrip - too powerful?
Definitely having the target admit a lie is too powerful for a cantrip, and so is anything that absolutely forces someone else to do something in my opinion. I like the making it hard for them to be dishonest, that seems in keeping with "Honesty" and what minor magic can do. If you did that I'd sti...

Honesty cantrip - too powerful?
I'm just thinking about the Honesty cantrip which makes people confess to telling a lie. Something like this can really derail an adventure if it involves an investigation. I know that there is a resist roll, but if that goes wrong then that could do something like uncover a murderer before the big ...

Re: Tweaks and clarifications to the new AFF rulebook
Another thing I have noticed from Stellar Adventures is the use of first aid kits. They have 10 uses and require a medicine roll to restore 2 STAMINA points. It says on page 42 (as AFF) in brackets. Does that now mean that people using the Healing in AFF now need a healer's kit with a certain number...

Re: Homebrew Talents + Spells
Like the talents. Adept might be a bit strong as the rules only allow an additional magical style to be taken once you have 6 points in the original one. You could be a wizard or sorcerer with the Templar ability. Maybe there can be a talent that lets you cast one wizard or sorcerer spell once a day.

I'm going through the old posts. Any chance of a Citadel of Choas or other FF conversion any time?
