Pulp II Set

Post by RabidFox » Wed Nov 14, 2007 8:52 am

Hi Graham,

I was wondering.
Last February you said a second Pulp figure set would be coming out this year.
How is that going?
I hope it still has a chance of coming out.

If you are still taking suggestions, I have some suggestions based on the size of the first set and the characters I commonly use in pulp gaming that the first set does not have.

30 persons
Zeppelin Captain
Zeppelin Steward
Zeppelin Rigger
Femme Fatale
Evening-gowned Women (x2)
Well-dressed Men (x2)
Mechanic (both genders)
Children (both genders)+(x2)=x4
Inventor (like the original scientist but without the lab coat)
Pilots (more scruffy looking than the originals) (x2)
Female Thugs/Ruffians (x2)
Male Thug w/o head stocking
Evil Genius
Mad Scientist
InterWar Era American-style Officer
InterWar Era American-style Sergeant
InterWar Era American-style Soldier (x2)
Dragon Lady
Oriental Villain
Oriental Henchmen (x2)

4 Vehicles
Motor Bike w. sidecar
Panel Delivery Truck
Stake Bed Truck
Curtiss JN-4D "Jenny" aeroplane

Does that work Graham?
The set is the exact same size as the first.

Wow!

That looks very do-able. My next set is already in production (post-apocalyptic), but i should be able to get a second pulp set done by christmas/new year.
I will probably do one or two as i come across perfect models etc, and i will post here with progress.

That is a fantastic suggestion, and i appreciate the suggestions.

Graham

That is great news Graham.

A new pulp set for Christmas would be great on this end Graham.
That way those who are home for Christmas would be able to play with the rest of us with the new figures.
Hope the set will make it in time.

Lookin' forward to the new sets.

As far as the four children, what I would like to see is one urchin of each gender and then two well-off children dressed to go somewhere.

Plus, the Femme Fatale does not need to be smoking like is so often depicted.
That would be very nice if you could focus her otherwise.
Same with the Dragon Lady.

The Evil Genius might be cool if placed in a wheelchair.

I hope this the type of input newsletter meant.

A bit more news. Due to other commitments, deadlines (and my other jobs!), the Pulp II set will be released before christmas as a standard set (15 human + vehicles) rather than the full 30. The other 15 will follow by the spring, as Pulp III.

Not absolutely ideal, but otherwise the full set may well get delayed several weeks (even a month or more), and i would rather get something out there that everyone can use.

Anyway, some more previews will follow tomorrow, and hopefully the set should be out in a couple of days.

Gee Whiz!
Aw shucks!
That's the way the cookie crumbles!

Half a set is better than no set, hands down!
Disappointing, yes!
On the other hand, completely understandable Graham.

Life has its priorities; gotta feed, clothe and shelter the family before all else.
Graham, you are a great guy!
Maintain that quality of life; too many of yours and mine countrymen think that it is stupid to have a spouse and family.
That is the only sure way to peace and joy though.

Merry Christmas Graham!

I knew there would be some disappointment!

As you say, there are other things in life. Such as a wife, a 2 year old, a full-time day job, a small sheep farm, a couple of other large Arion Games projects, small commissions, etc

However, we try to fit it all in, and i just wish there were more hours in the day to get everything done quicker.

Still, 3 more previews are up, and the set should be out in a day or so!

Oh goodness, gracious NO on the more hours in a day.
The days are long enough as they are.

What I would like is the energy and focus to make every minute work at its maximum capacity.
24 hours is plenty; I just need the capacity to make it work better and harder.

Fantastic Graham!
What a way to end the year!

Additionally, thank you for working again on the Pulp-style figures.
There are just so few quality Pulp figures out there, whether in paper or metal.
Plus, do not even ask about plastic!

It will be the last set I will get with the prize I won in the Arion Games' contest last March, and this set is one I really can use.
Next year, some other gaming goober like me will spend a good bit of money and win your next contest and enjoy the fruits of your labors like I have.
Even then, I still spent more later on older sets I had not bought yet.
I am hopeless, aren't I?
Oh well, I will be looking forward to this last code.

Thank you for a really great, quality gaming product Graham!
Have a very Merry Christmas!
