Stellar Adventures - The AstroNavy

Post by FarsightBlogger » Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:24 pm

I've been flicking through Starship Traveller, which was my original inspiration for Stellar Adventures, and I was thinking about expanding on the AstroNavy - who they are, what they do, their sphere of influence and what else resides in the galaxy.

Alongside this I was thinking of having the Black Hole access to the other universe a gateway to the books contents, as now that the Traveller has the coordinates, other exploration ships could travel there.

I know that the Star Trek influence on Starship Traveller is more than evident but it'd be nice to have another take on that kind of setting and maybe do it without some of Trek's heavy morality.

Just an idea.

Great idea!

Though if I ran a similar campaign, it'd be less Star Trek and more The Orville...
In a time of fear and confusion, silence charging the air
The sunlight is gone, darkness lives on, in the heart of the dragon's lair

I assume you are talking about Orville the Duck here? :-)

I'd actually forgotten all about Orville the duck... thanks for reminding me... Not. :)

The Orville is basically a Star Trek clone, except where everyone's not politically correct, and all stuffy and uptight. They argue, swear, make sarcastic comments... It's basically Star Trek but with 'normal people for a crew.

The stories vary in quality. Some are quite thought provoking, some are just a bit 'light', but it's almost always funny and entertaining.

Who'd have guessed, That IS more entertaining that Orville the Duck!

Seriously I enjoyed the trailer but will have to see if I ever get to see it considering that I live in the EU. But I'll keep an eye out for it
