Iron Age AFF (in progress)

Post by Slloyd14 » Mon Mar 19, 2018 2:23 am

Hello all. Below is a link to my Iron Age AFF which has grown considerably. It includes rules for character creation, uses of skills and Shamanism. I need to add lots more such as overland encounters and dungeon exploration and also Roman Empire type characters.

Enjoy!

for roman types you might find the d&d historical might of rome useful as would vikings and celts in the same series

vikings is good for runes and their uses and is something im working on for my own norse campaign sadly what ive done so far is scrawled in my note books and would need some one with rune lore to be able to read it otherwise i could upload it if i knew how,

for interesting stone circles etc barbrook near where i live has a couple of nice stone circles and arbor low is another famous one there are photos of them on line and possibly on google map photos hope this helps. :D

Cool! Paul Elliot wrote some Roman Empire rules for the first edition of AFF way back on one of the old FF websites here:

After this you may want to consider Bronze Age as well... and rework Ascent of Darkness into a Brone Age adventure along the same guidelines... 8)

Many thanks for all the help guys! After delving into it and finding some resources (Such as the RPGs Testament and Total Rome and ...and a 10 foot pole for prices), I might do a supplement for stone age, bronze age and iron age at the moment. Iron age is a bit close to medieval so there isn't much difference. To me, bronze age is the most exciting as that is the age of the Greeks, Egyptians and Vikings. Stone age is also great - there will be a lot fewer options, but it could also be used for primitive tribes that the heroes come across.

Here is my Stone Age work in progress. There is a higher emphasis on crafting and resource gathering in order to survive. I'm going to include magic last as then i can write some spells that fit the setting and revolve around Stone Age people want. it is definitely more gritty than the high fantasy stuff. i'm going to use this as a springboard to do the bronze Age next.

I'd suggest you put the Stone Age project in a separate thread ;)
