AFF1 characters get the AFF2 treatment

Post by Slloyd14 » Mon Dec 23, 2013 12:12 am

Hi all! I've been going through the AFF1 books and giving the characters AFF2 stats. here is Sargon - what do you think of him?

SARGON SKILL 7 STAMINA 15 MAGIC 12 Magic Points 34

Special Skills: Magic – Priestly 6, Magic – Wizardry 5, Magic – Battle Magic 4, Magic – Minor 4, Magic – Enchanting 3, Magic – Conjuring 5, Magic Lore 5, Second Sight 5, Religion Lore 5, World Lore 4, City Lore 3, Awareness 3, Bargain 2, Con 3, Etiquette 3, Language – Common 4, Language – Ancient Allansian 4, Secret Signs 4, Stewardship 2, Staves 3.

Talents: Natural Mage, Learned, Natural Linguist, Attuned, Blessed, Holy.

Wizardry Spells: All Wizardry Spells.

Minor Spells: Attraction, Burn, Enhance, Hear, Hold, Honesty, Inebriate, Instil, Jab, Mistake, Pucker, Push.

Battle Spells: Blast, Protection, Fear, Bog.

ELIM
Special Power: Once per day, a priest of Elim can make an area completely dark. This works as a Darkness Spell for everyone except devout followers of Elim (priests of Elim or those who have taken the Templar Talent to follow Elim). It cannot be cancelled with any kind of light and covers an area 5m2. Once per round, anyone who is not a devout follower of Elim will lose 1 stamina point due to the life draining nature of the darkness. This darkness lasts a number of rounds equal to the devotion of the priest.

Other powers: Ill-Luck, Weakness, Curse

Social Scale: 8

Weapon: Staff

Armour: None

I guess he's supposed to be a powerful guy. Have to go back and look at the AFF1 stats for comparison..

I guess it is,but I put Learned, Natural Linguist and Attuned in as just flavour. They don't really impact his strength as an opponent.

In Allansia, Sargon was Skill 10 Stamina 15 and had one special skill: Magic 29. He knew all wizard spells and a few battle spells. Since he is the High Priest, I've given him priest abilities, but also wizard spells using the AFF2 rules to keep him in line with his old stats. I also reduced his skill as that seemed like a bit much (he had skill 10 in a game where starting adventurers could have a skill between 7-12. Now 7 is the max and starting priests might have lower skills), so I gave him a skill of 7, but a staves 3 skill, so he has an effective skill of 10 in combat. Most other skills are just there to flesh him out as they are what I would expect him to have. I tried to have a priestly ability that fits Elim being the enemy of Ashra and Vuh (light and life), but considering Elim is one of the primal gods, maybe it could be more powerful?
