The official line is that there is no link at all, but i don't believe that. It was published by Puffin, and i am sure they will have sent a copy to Steve and Ian to look over, given their pre-eminence in uk RPG's at the time. Thus it is likely that the manuscript/book ended up at GW early on...

Yeah I can believe that too, GW and White Dwarf must have had their eye on everything at that point. White Dwarf was at it's height and took interest in such a wide range of games too.
