First issue submissions
Happy 2020 everyone!
How about we restart our work on the AFF Fanzine? Perhaps we can set a deadline for article entries. End of January?
I’m posting this here and in the AFF forum to get the maximum number of people.

Re: First issue submissions
That’s why I put out these messages. It’s gone a bit quiet with the end of year festivities and it would be great to get things moving again.
I’m working on some things.

Re: First issue submissions
Hey all.
I've not heard from Graham for ages, but really it's in my hands I guess to start putting things together.
Two issues with that:
1. While I've written for and proofread a magazine before I've never constructed one. And I don't want to do a basic "throw some text on a page" sort of job, I want it to look decent. That will take time.
2. I'm trying to get the new C&D book edited and proofread as a matter of urgency. It's slow going and is holding up Graham's release of that book. I *have* to prioritise that endeavour. Sorry.
The more ideas, works of art, stories, articles, games, etc you can throw up here/on the Drive account the better. It gives us stuff to work with. Let's try to make the first episode about "Helping new GMs to AFF" as much as possible - half the mag on that topic would be good.

Thank you Bifford for all that you are doing, understand this is a bit of a learning experience and that you want to get it right. Happy to will send you some things next week.
Tried sending you a message but it got stuck in the outbox. Don’t know if messages are still working here. How best to send articles?

I think this Google Drive folder is one place: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... cGBgiR81LdHedgeWizard wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 8:28 pmTried sending you a message but it got stuck in the outbox. Don’t know if messages are still working here. How best to send articles?

I created mine in the shared folder. Don't know how to transfer it across.

I've uploaded them now.

Re: First issue submissions
That's a significant amount of content. I could see that being a series of jungle-themed articles over several issues.
Re: First issue submissions
To spice things up a bit, I could do similar themed articles for different terrains e.g. mountain hazards or the spells of steppe nomad shamans etc. So that people don't get jungle fever.

Re: First issue submissions
How about digging up an AFF forum post and giving it an updated audience?
Or a forum post that reminisces of AFF of the past? Here is what people thought of AFF2 in the past!
How about my blog posts on why AFF1 was broken and needed an update - that seems appropriate for issue 1.
Anyone got any play reports? I could see if any bloggers want to publish them?

Other ideas:
Titan TV - a catch up on what's been going on with your favorite TV shows.
Love Island - The Snow Witch is still giving Razaak the cold shoulder ever since the "been dead for centuries excuse". Lucretia is giving Balthus the eye and Balthus is able to survive it. Zharradon is spending too long in the mirror. Not looking in the mirror,. literally in the mirror. Leesha gave Malbordus a golden shower.
Come dine with me - Nicodemus's Catfish stew went down a treat with all but one of the guests, who is now a lizard living in a box under Nicodemus's bed. Zagor is preparing his dinner of fried eyeballs where he will give a prize to the guest who can eat the most. Lord Carnuss is giving everyone the Blood Island treatment which is locking them in a cell and making them fight to the death for a bowl of broth.

Re: First issue submissions
Just to say, I'm starting to do a bit of work. I need Graham to divulge a non-pdf version of what he has. Something *I* can edit and work on. I also need the cover art on it's own, and to get a STYLE GUIDE from Graham - whether there is specific fonts I have to use because of the books etc. Graham is hard to contact at times due to a busy life!
