Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
Yeah, I think this is awesome and we'll definitely have some of that!

Soon it will be one year after this idea was launched... it is time to set up a deadline and work towards it...

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
A job of mine is almost over now and I will have some more time soon. I know we have written material, so the two questions are:
What do we have?
What do we need?

Happy to read that you have some time and goodwill to put on this job!

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
Here is the answer:
Ideally, the publications should be on January, April, July and October... perhaps we can make it for July 2020?
If I remember it right (this is not guaranteed. at all..), one magazine page completely full of text is about 900 words, but then of course there is all artwork, titles, etc.
Letters from Arion (by Graham): 631 words (one page, after you add titles and images)
Arion Books: 715 words (one page...)
Arron Notes and Letters: 1076 words (a bit more than one page...)
Arron Rumours: 1004 words (a bit more than one page...)
Chinese weapons for AFF: 1257 and at least as much images (two or three pages)
Sizing up monsters: 1227 words (one and half page)
Welcome to Arion adventure: 5317 words (six pages)
Jungle equipment + jungle magic + jungle PCs + jungle poisons and diseases + jungle ruins dungeons + NPCs in the jungle + shaman spells + travelling and hazards = 167+1137+1242+671+1608+1610+1019 + 2545 = 9999 (12 pages)
Gareus comic: 4 pages
Various artwork by JK: probably two pages
Total: about 37 pages... a bit more than enough!

Still missing, but promised:
Andrew Wright: Pit section.
I think that Bifford and you have enough material available for making a 30 (...32 with covers?) pages magazine, assuming all material so far submitted is publishable, of course!

If you think there is something else specific missing, please shout out loud!

Hope it helps

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
Many thanks. Do we need art too?

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
Between Gareus (comic) and JK contributions we should be about OK with art, but assessing this topic is not my forte at all.

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
An editorial, details on contributing to future editions and, perhaps, a request for "Letters" - well, probably emails - of questions could also be included.
Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
So, if a July release was going to be being aimed for, is there anything we can do to help?
Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
I've been busy since yesterday working on this. At the moment it is "non-tangible stuff".
I am currently mind-mapping the project to help with with work-flow and layout thoughts. Rather than just "throwing everything in to a document" I am mapping stuff out so that I can keep the same flow throughout issues. Once I have it a bit more substantial (later tonight?) I'll throw it up here for you all to appraise and critique.

Did you manage to go through the available material? Do you have enough material (quality + quantity)?

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
Working on it now. I've downloaded all of the items in the group Dropbox so if anyone makes any changes be sure to tell me!
I am re-learning DTP (Scribus) as I do this. (I last touched Quark Xpress in College, so 1997-2000)
Today I re-discovered Master Pages. Then discovered their limitations. Which led me to discover Scrapbooks.
I am still getting a handle on style-guides.
I havn't yet worked out Contents automation.
What I do have so far is this (and a back page looking the same as Graham's initial mock-up).
The left hand page is a mock-up advertisement (using an image from the AFF Facebook group) so is temporary until Graham gets me a proper one or I make one up for real.

Re: AFF Fanzine (AFFFZ?)
Okay. So today has been about:
Master Pages.
Styles.
Sorting the Contents page out. (contents lineup and editor's text liable to change).
(The left hand page is a thrown-together advert page mock-up)

Looks good Bifford!
Nearly finished some dragon pictures to go with my monster article.
