VIRTUAL TABLE TOP ADVICE

Post by Robb 1 » Fri Mar 20, 2020 8:11 pm

HI all been off forum for a while. Hope everyone is okay in these difficult times.

Just hoping to pick the collectives brains for info on what would be a good virtual free table top for running designing adventures that a total amatuer such as myself could use :oops: :D

I played and run games for a long time on https://www.rpol.net
He's a real Nowhere man, sitting in his Nowhere land, making all his Nowhere plans for Nobody.

RPOL isn't a virtual tabletop, it is a forum. I've used it a lot but went off it a while back as I didn't get a feeling of "community" there, though I did make a couple of friends.

For forum based games I love RPGGeek.

As for the OP question, for Virtual Tabletops you have a few choices:

Roll20 (free);
Fantasy Grounds (Unity is the new version, or Classic which is still supported) (limited free/paid);
Astral (DriveThruRPG's VTT);
Arkenforge (map making and more);
MapTool;
